Nokia 6680 Remains Best in Class 3G/Video Device
Boston, MA - August 15, 2006 -- Strategy Analytics, the global research and consulting company, today released an update to its Benchmark Database, following recent mobile device evaluations held in London, UK. User evaluations of 4 new ultra-thin devices resulted in the LG Chocolate receiving the highest overall marks, followed by the BenQ-Siemens EF81 and Motorola SLVR. The Samsung SGH-Z540v was rated the lowest device in this hands-on consumer test.
Wowing users with its style appeal, the LG Chocolate received a score of 78 out of 100 in terms of Style or Design- the highest of any 3G/Video device tested in Europe - and the same score which had been achieved by the Motorola RAZR when it was first evaluated by a Strategy Analytics Advanced User Panel in March 2005.
"Chocolate's style visibly impressed users," commented Paul Brown, Wireless Analyst at Strategy Analytics, "However usability issues still surround the device, particularly in terms of the distinctive but unfamiliar touch sensitive keys."
Kevin Nolan, Director of the Advanced Wireless Laboratory added "The Nokia 6680 still remains the `Best in Class' 3G/Video Device we have tested in Europe. Nokia has been improving its usability with each device, which has been one of the key success factors of the 6680."
