Study Reveals Twin Cultures of "Laggards" and "Pioneers"
Boston, MA - October 13, 2006 -The Strategy Analytics Automotive Electronics Service has released, "Automotive Smart Junction Box Systems: Laggards & Pioneers," which describes the emergence of these units and analyzes the installation trends.
Twin cultures of "Laggards" and "Pioneers" are identified and documented, with the market expected to reach around 45 million units in 2010, as the current laggards catch up with pioneers, such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, Audi and Porsche
"We expect that by 2010 most models in all segments will be equipped with a Smart Junction Box," noted Ian Riches, Automotive Practice Service Director. "Some models that are produced in South America, China, Eastern Europe and Russia may continue beyond this timeframe with obsolete technology," he added.
Pressure on average selling prices, as well as increased fitment of lower-specification, lower-cost devices to smaller vehicles means that market revenue growth will significantly lag unit growth.
"Strategy Analytics predicts compound average annual unit growth of 14 percent over the period 2007 to 2010," stated Mark Fitzgerald, Senior Industry Analyst. "The revenue growth comes in at only 8 percent for the same period," he added.
