SYNC Achieves "Best in Class" Status
Boston, MA - January 3, 2006 - Strategy Analytics, the global research and consulting company, recently released, "Music Devices USA: Samsung Cingular SYNC Beats Motorola V3i and Nokia N91," its latest end-user applications benchmark, which concludes that users overall choose the Samsung Cingular SYNC as their preferred phone for music performance, overall usability, and visual appeal.
48 advanced mobile users in Boston, MA, tested the performance of seven mobile music devices on the basis of Music Feature Quality, Menu/UI, Keypad, Display and Style/Design. The Samsung Cingular SYNC outscored its competition in every category, while the LG VX8500 `Chocolate' received lowest marks in almost every category.
Pamela De Luca, Advanced Wireless Laboratory Analyst at Strategy Analytics, noted, "Participants were overwhelmingly satisfied with the performance and visual appeal of the Samsung Cingular SYNC. Additionally, they appeared to be very comfortable using the device as a music player and were quite capable of carrying-out in a timely manner the tasks that were presented to them. The Motorola V3i (RAZR) and the Nokia N91 were also rather well received by these participants."
Paul Brown, of Strategy Analytics, added, "The LG VX 8500 `Chocolate' received the lowest overall rating despite its sleek appearance and reputation as a high quality mobile music device. However, participants rejected the `Chocolate' due to its complex menu layout and cumbersome touch-sensitive keypad."
