LG enV and Helio Ocean Outperform in Text Messaging Device Benchmarks
Boston, MA - 17 July 2007 - The Strategy Analytics Wireless Device Lab has recently released its latest end user benchmark report, "LG enV and Helio Ocean Outperform in Text Messaging Device Benchmarks" which concludes that even the best in class devices have at least 20 or more user experience improvement points to address.
Text messengers in San Diego undertook tasks of locating the SMS feature and entering a passage of text on some of the latest text messaging devices - the Helio Ocean, Kyocera Strobe, LG enV Samsung SCH-U740 and the T-Mobile Sidekick - before providing both quantitative and qualitative feedback on each device.
""Industrial Design Imperatives, Softkey Placement, Size and Legibility of Icons and Keypad Spacing and Profile are four critical success factors for messaging devices that we have identified," commented Pamela De Luca, User Experience Analyst at Strategy Analytics.
Kevin Nolan, Director of User Experience Research, added, "Not one of the text messaging devices in our latest benchmark analysis offers a perfect combination of these components. Although each device had its own positive attributes, participants felt that they were each lacking in certain areas."
