Three and Vodafone Have Best-in-Class Portal DiscoverabilityBoston, MA - 21 February 2008 - The Strategy Analytics Wireless Media Lab has recently released its latest end user research report, "UK Mobile Portals: One Click Access and Simple Layout Enhance Experience," which evaluates the portal experience of leading network operator providers in the UK.
Three and Vodafone both achieved a 4-star rating for their overall portal experience, while O2, Orange and T-Mobile all received a 3-star rating. Three and Vodafone performed particularly well for portal discoverability, while Vodafone also excelled for its News & Info service.
Paul Brown, Senior Usability Experience Analyst at Strategy Analytics, commented, "Providing users with straightforward access to the various sections of the portal is an extremely important feature. The majority of UK participants prefer simple lists rather than graphic-intensive menus."
David Kerr, VP of the Global Wireless Practice, added, "In the UK mobile portal benchmarks, Full Track Music Download and Games downloads remain significant areas of weakness in terms of user satisfaction. Three was best-in-class for Mobile TV; and Vodafone has the best news application in the UK. T-Mobile's portal needs updating in terms of color, font and iconography, as well as significant additional music offerings.
