Wrath of the Lich King will Help Grow Global MMOG revenues 16% this year Boston, MA - 12 November 2008 - According to the latest research from Strategy Analytics, massively multiplayer online games (MMOG), such as World of Warcraft, will generate $1.5 billion in subscription revenues worldwide in 2008 and grow to more than $2.5 billion by 2012.
Martin Olausson, Director of Digital Media Research at Strategy Analytics, said "We are seeing continued strong growth for the MMOG segment this year. The highly anticipated release of `World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King' will help propel the market to new heights in the remainder of this year and throughout the coming year."
