Mobile Search is Easy to Use
Straightforward Search Methods Increase Mobile Search Efficiency
Boston, MA - 4 March 2009 - The latest benchmark analysis from the Strategy Analytics Wireless Media Lab, "Mobile Searching Becoming More Efficient and Easier to Use," evaluates the user experience of three mobile search applications.
Strategy Analytics believes that minimizing text input enables users to search for web-based content in a more efficient manner and increases frequency of use. Also, short, straight-forward voice commands are optimal for searching for web-based content using voice-recognition software.
Paul Brown, Senior Analyst in the Strategy Analytics User Experience Practice, commented, "The process of searching for a local business location was very straight forward, while the results obtained by both Google and Yahoo provided useful features such as maps and contact numbers."
Christopher Dodge, User Experience Analyst at Strategy Analytics, added, "The Nuance Voice Control application uses short, straight-forward commands and eliminates the need for voice training; therefore, users can begin to use the application as soon as they acquire it."
