iPhone Controls Drive Mobile Gaming
Touchscreens and Accelerometers Provide Enhanced User Experience for Mobile Gamers
Boston, MA - 30 April 2009 -The Strategy Analytics Wireless Device Lab report, "Innovative Built-In Sensors Drive Enhanced Mobile Gaming Experience," shows that mobile devices using touchscreens and accelerometers, such as the Apple iPhone, provide an enhanced mobile gaming experience.
In addition, the option to purchase games outright must be a part of any purchase model aimed at casual mobile gamers. These findings are based on in-depth interviews with mobile gamers in the UK.
"Driven by the explosion of application downloads to smart devices, mobile gaming is poised for growth," commented Chris Schreiner, Senior User Experience Analyst at Strategy Analytics. "Innovative sensory enhancements, such as the touchscreen and accelerometer in the Apple iPhone, bring the gaming experience to the next level."
