Seismic Changes in IT, Virtualization and Cloud Computing
Boston, MA – February 14, 2011 - In 2011, iPhone and Android devices for mobile enterprise applications will become an integral part of everyday IT operations, changing standard business operations forever. Strategy Analytics Wireless Enterprise and Broadband Bundle Profitability groups have teamed to project a series of seismic changes for the Wireless Enterprise in 2011, published as, "New Frontiers: 10 Trends that will shape the Wireless Enterprise in 2011."
"In 2011 we see the emergence of converged devices with 4G modems, secure mobile enterprise applications and seamless fixed mobile Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Wireless Integration and enterprise mobility are changing the structure of corporate and small business network operations," announced Andrew Brown, Director Wireless Enterprise Strategies. "'Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is turning from an experiment to an enterprise 'norm,' as smartphones and tablets move into the workplace, each with its own mobile application environment. BYOD is driving the need for secure converged fixed mobile access (4G, WiFi and Femtocell) and integrated IT management. This may appear to be the IT manager's nightmare scenario. In fact, new mechanisms - like Juniper's JUNOS Pulse for remote security and monitoring - allow mobile devices to come under full IT control for the first time," he added.
