Sole Provider of OECD Fixed Broadband Benchmarking Service
Boston, MA, USA February 15, 2011 – The new Strategy Analytics agreement with OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) provides the framework for the only comprehensive benchmarking data for broadband services based on methodologies developed by the OECD. This fixed broadband information will be complemented with mobile broadband benchmarking for the 34 OECD countries later in 2011.
For over 15 years, the Teligen division of Strategy Analytics has provided quarterly wireless price benchmarking results based on OECD methodologies, through its T-Basket service, which compares prices for mobile telephony, fixed telephony and leased lines in OECD countries. Now, T-Connect will offer similar information for those interested in the fixed broadband industry. Both of these products provide users with flexibility to produce customized benchmarking reports and utilize recognized OECD techniques for benchmarking results.
Dimitri Ypsilanti, Head of the OECD’s Information, Consumer and Communications Divisions, says "Given the key economic and social role broadband plays in OECD countries, the ability to benchmark broadband pricing is of increasing importance for policy makers, regulators, industry and consumers. OECD is pleased that the methodology to compare broadband prices will be more widely available through this new Strategy Analytics offering."
