Ed Barton, Service Director, provides clients with strategic insight on the evolution of digital media for the Strategy Analytics Digital Media Service (DMS), which sizes and forecasts consumer spending, usage and adoption of the key current and emerging sectors in the global market for digital media. His focus is on the transition from packaged media to a variety of digital and online business models and the commercial impact resulting from these shifts. He covers digital video, advertising, video games, music and social media, as well as emerging cloud-based distribution dynamics and the impact of new device categories, such as tablets and connected TVs, on media consumption patterns.
Mr. Barton spent a decade at Screen Digest as a leading expert in video games and online gambling, serving a client base which included the leading Hollywood Studios, CE manufacturers, games publishers, broadcasters and financial institutions.
Prior to becoming an analyst, Ed was Business Development Manager for the pioneering spread betting firm, Sporting Index, following his time at the corporate finance boutique firm Kittoe & Co.
