Lexus LS460 Mark Levinson Audio System Impresses Consumers
Recording to Internal Hard Drive Compelling Due to Flexibility
Boston, MA - March 30, 2010 – During a recent user evaluation of the 2010 Lexus LS460 entertainment and navigation features, consumers were impressed with the ease of use of the satellite radio, internal hard drive and point-of-interest navigation search, but consumers had difficulty with voice commands. The recent Strategy Analytics Automotive Consumer Insights benchmark report, “Vehicle Entertainment and Navigation User Evaluation: 2010 Lexus LS460,” evaluates the user experience for the car’s entertainment and navigation features.
Consumers were particularly impressed by the flexibility of the internal hard drive, which allowed them to select specific tracks from the current CD to record rather than limiting the user to recording only entire CDs.
“Overall consumer thoughts about the user experience of the Lexus LS460 head unit were positive,” commented Chris Schreiner, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics. “Users rated it highly on all aspects of the interface, and considered it to be ‘cool’ and ‘leading edge.’”
Kevin Nolan, Vice President of the Strategy Analytics User Experience Practice, added, “Although most comments on the Lexus LS460 were positive, voice commands were extremely frustrating for users, as accuracy and overall interaction with the system was disappointing.”
