Sue Rudd to Moderate 'Network Evolution in Practice' Panel at MWC 2015

AT&T, Huawei, Italtel, Telekom Austria and Telefonica Executives discuss Network Industry Futures

Boston, MA - February 10, 2015 – Strategy Analytics announced today that Sue Rudd, Director Service Provider Analysis will moderate GSMA’s high profile Mobile World Congress panel on ‘Network Evolution in Practice’ at 4:00 PM CET on March 2, 2015 in Hall 4 of the Fira Barcelona. At this session top executives and CTO s from four leading operators will share their objectives, insights and experiences, outlining where they are in the network evolution process and the hurdles they face today.

The panel will focus on how visions for the ideal network of the future based on the best elements of IT and Telecoms actually translate to services in real time.

Sue Rudd has over 25 years’ experience working with service providers to develop business cases for Mobile Broadband, Voice and Value Added IP services. Her current work focuses on matching new technology to business opportunities and includes business cases to optimize service provider Revenue and Total Cost of Operations (TCO) per GB with specific analyses of Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Self-Organizing Networks (SON), Video Optimization and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs).

She comments "As we move beyond the ‘hype’ phase of NFV and SDN, service providers, vendors and leading standards organizations such as ETSI, NGMN and ONF are starting to focus on deployment and interoperability. But there is a risk that the frenzied pace of technological innovation from new entrants and traditional vendors could ‘virtualize today’s chaos’ if innovation leaps too far ahead of standards." She continued, "This session will allow leading operators to present their latest progress and challenge the vendors and standards organizations to deliver the platforms that NFV/SDN demands."
